Santa Fe College presentation about the global pandemic and how states take different approaches.

Coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 is a contagious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome SARS-CoV-2. It has infected millions around the world. Coronavirus has stopped economies, provoke social disruptions, and killed many people. The presentation was held through the platform Zoom on June 24, 2020, and it provided information about the COVID-19 pandemic and how other states and regions are handling the impact that it brought to the public health, the economy and the society. The presentation discuss how different states are working together in order to combat the negative outcomes. The presentation also explained how different multilateral organization such as the World Health Organization are responding to global misinformation regarding COVID-19. It also explained how different states control the pandemic and which has done it the most efficiently. For example, the host talked about the measures used by Germany and Australia since it has been proved to be one of the most effective. At the end of the presentation, we discuss different approximation that the United States could take into consideration based on other states in order to improve its current situation. I was able to share my own experience on how my country, Bolivia, has handled the pandemic. Overall, the presentation helped Santa Fe students to have a better understanding of how the pandemic affected the world and the different strategies used by states to combat COVID-19.
