During my first semester at Santa Fe College, I was introduced to the International Studies Certificate. I felt as if the program was made for me because I have always had an interest for other cultures. At an early age, I learned German and had the opportunity to do a school exchange in Germany for a year.  

Later on, I understood how important is to know more about countries' politics, cultures and societies. I believe that with globalization comes a big responsibility for our generation, and thus this program is essential for every college student. 

With the International Studies Certificate, I was able to take classes with a global focus. I was also able to attend to various presentations and activities with an international target. I participate in the Santa Fe Photography Contest and won first place.
